Technical Service Bulletin (GXS-AM030907-01)
GXS Operations Center

Highlight

This technical bulletin contains information about an IE Service Change

  Description

As part of the GXS integration of the former IBM infrastructure with the GXS infrastructure, we are announcing the movement of the IE Internet Secure Front End and Internet FTP servers from Dallas, Texas to Brook Park, Ohio. These servers are used for Internet Expedite and FTP access to Information Exchange (IE).

The new servers in Brook Park are already available for use. The servers in Dallas will be available until March 31st, 2007 to ensure that there is no interruption of service.

Changes to accomplish this migration are very small and require the IE user to only change the IP address and/or the URL used to access IE. The chart below shows you the old IP addresses with URLs and the new IP addresses with URLs.

Guide for Expedite Users:
NOTE: If you use FTP or an EDI application other than Expedite, please contact the software vendor for specific instructions. Modification of your firewall settings maybe needed to allow access to the new IP address, please contact your network support for guidance

For Expedite Base/AIX:

Update hostname.fil
This file is located in the following directory:
/var/adm/expedite
Expedite Base/AIX comes with a file called hostname.fil. This file contains the IP addresses that can be used to communicate with the network using TCP/IP.
Open the hostname.fil with a text editor. Find the line that does NOT begin with # and if that address is 204.146.24.85, change the address to 204.90.130.45 and save the file. Expedite Base/AIX will now use the new address you selected.

NOTE: If there is a different address on that line, no change is needed at this time.

For Expedite Base/WIN:

Update hostname.fil
This file is located in the following directory:
C:\expedite
Expedite Base/WIN comes with a file called hostname.fil. This file contains the IP address that is used to communicate with the network using TCP/IP.
Open the hostname.fil with Notepad.
If you see the following line,
204.146.24.85 3667 # USA_SSL - United States, Canada, Latin America
Update it to read:
204.90.130.45 3667 # USA_SSL - United States, Canada, Latin America
and save the file.
Expedite Base/WIN will now use the new address you selected.

NOTE: If there is a different address in use, no change is needed at this time.

For Expedite /WIN:

Update hostname.fil
This file is located in the following directory:
C:\exp6\shared
Expedite/WIN comes with a file called hostname.fil. This file contains the IP address that is used to communicate with the network using TCP/IP.
Open the hostname.fil with Notepad.
If you see the following line,
204.146.24.85 3667
Update it to read:
204.90.130.45 3667
and save the file.
Expedite/WIN will now use the new address you selected.

NOTE: If there is a different address in use, no change is needed at this time.

For Expedite Base/MVS:

Update the INPRO
Expedite Base/MVS uses INPRO to set session parameters. This contains the IP addresses that can be used to communicate with the network using TCP/IP. This may be a ddname, instream in the JCL or identify a DSN in the JCL

Edit the ddname INPRO or Edit the JCL, instream it will be proceded with:
// INPRO DD *

Or edit the dataset it refers to:
// INPRO DD DSN=dataset name

Find this command in the INPRO, JCL or DSN, usually following the IDENTIFY statement:
Tcpcomm ietcphost1(204.146.24.85)ietcpport1(3667);

Change the IP address to 204.90.130.45 and save the file. The ietcpport1 value will remain the same (3667). Expedite Base/MVS will now use the new address you selected.

NOTE: If there is a different IP address on that line or snacomm is used instead no change is needed at this time.

For Expedite Base/400:

Update the INPRO
Expedite Base/400 uses the INPRO file to set session parameters.
This contains the IP addresses that can be used to communicate with the network using TCP/IP.

Edit the INPRO

Find this command:
Tcpcomm ietcphost1(204.146.24.85)

Change the IP address to 204.90.130.45 and save the file. The ietcpport1 value will remain the same (3667). Expedite Base/400 will now use the new address you selected.

NOTE: If there is a different IP address on that line or snacomm is used instead no change is needed at this time.
