1. What is the IE Experience?

Starting in 2007, the IE Experience is the future GXS upgrade path for Information Exchange customers. The IE Experience has been designed to support most Information Exchange features and functionality and is being developed and implemented on the GXS Trading Grid Ultra Infrastructure:

    • Unmatched Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives
    • Raising the Bar with the Highest Availability in the Industry
  • Designed with the Information Exchange Community in Mind
    • Transparent Communications ensure continuous operations including FTP/IP, IP-Dial, LU6.2, Zengin
    • New GXS Trading Grid Online - IE Experience created to ensure same functionality and capabilities as Information Exchange today
2. What is the GXS EasyPath Upgrade?

The GXS EasyPath Upgrade provides Information Exchange customers with the following benefits:

  • Fully-Automated Capability. Enables transparent upgrade throughout a trading community for a non-disruptive approach for you and your community. Ability to move groups of mailboxes, trading partners and user data, seamlessly
  • Upgrade Task Force. Dedicated organization to oversee and manage upgrades end-to-end
  • Seamless Upgrade Methodology. Proven methodology to enable and track upgrades end-to-end
  • Recovery and Reversion Capability. Rapid rollback capability if necessary

3. Can I still use Information Exchange Administration Services?

You can still use Information Exchange Administration Services to manage the following functions:

  • Profiles
  • Alias tables
  • Trading partners
  • Interchange services

As part of the introduction of GXS Trading Grid Online- IE Experience, a new web interface is being developed which has significant usability enhancements over the current offering. It will initially support listing messages in your mailbox. It will be enhanced to support other administration functions, including audit trails and session information in the second update, and eventually replace Information Exchange Administration Services.

4. Will all Information Exchange functions be available?

Most Information Exchange functions will be supported by the IE Experience. Functions that had limited use on Information Exchange, such as groups within an account and libraries, will not be available.

5. Will my billing change?

Your GXS account will continue to be billed at the same contracted rate for Information Exchange.

6. When will I be upgraded?

The scheduling of your mailboxes for EasyPath Upgrade will depend upon the communication interface and Information Exchange features used. We may not be in a position to upgrade your mailbox on demand. Features and functionality for transparent upgrades will be added throughout 2007. As soon as the features you use are supported, your mailbox will be automatically scheduled for upgrade.

7. What will I need to do?

The GXS EasyPath Upgrade is a non-disruptive approach for you:

  • Requires no additional work.
  • Minimal to no impact on internal systems for you.
8. Will my trading partners have to make any changes?

The GXS EasyPath Upgrade is a non-disruptive approach for your trading community:

  • Requires no additional work.
  • Minimal to no impact on internal systems for your trading communities.
  • Community notification not required.
9. Who can I contact for additional information?
